It would be nice if more cruises started here but when you are a destination, it's hard to make that happen.  Not counting Bermuda, Boston as a port of embarkation or call is rather fickle.  September is when leaves turn red and orange and the cruise lines warm up to New England.

Holland America has the only New England / Canada cruise that originates in Boston and it goes one way to Montreal and then originates in Montreal and goes one way back, unless you want to purchase a 14-night round trip.  These occur in May, June and early July and then the ship, the Maasdam, crosses the Atlantic and returns for a late August and early September Montreal foray.
