Welcome to the Rail Adventures
Page
Low speed or high speed, rail travel is
just plain fun.
Some of the most beautiful places in the United States can be
visited by rail. The Rocky Mountains, the great National Parks of the
Southwest, the Pacific Coast, the Antebellum South, Alaska and New England just to name a few.
The US is home to a large number of specialty rail companies offering basic
transportation to luxury touring to theme and dinner adventures, and then of
course there is Amtrak.
The Canadian Rail System, VIA, Latin for way or path, has an
excellent reputation for service. Whether traveling along the Saint
Lawrence or through the Canadian Rockies, there's a train to make your tour of
Canada complete.
Not to be confused with VIA Rail is the Great Canadian Railtour Company and
their Rocky Mountaineer Vacations is one of our favorites, read what one of our
clients has to say about that adventure.
Rail Europe covers all of Western Europe
and some of the East as well. Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania,
Spain, Switzerland and United Kingdom. As the continent is so well connected, many
travelers purchase multi-country, youth or senior passes, which saves money over point to point
tickets. There is nothing like seeing Europe by train, and the high speed
trains, Wow. DER or Destination Europe Resources works in conjunction with
Rail Europe and books air, cars and hotels.

Mexico has one extraordinary rail adventure, Copper Canyon, four
times the size of the Grand Canyon, 83 tunnels, 35 trestles and 8,000 feet later
you find yourself in the Sierra Madras. Travel luxuriously, round trip on
the American Orient Express from Juarez, just across the border from El Passo to
Alamos, founded in 1540 as the seat of the Colony of Western Mexico. If
you're looking for a true adventure in Mexican culture, travel on the Chihuahua
al Pacífico Train. It is recommended to travel from West to East, from El
Fuerte to Chihuahua for the best canyon views.
